Comparison

A Pepakura alternative that runs in your browser.

Same job, no install, and it works the same on a Mac, a PC or a Chromebook. Here is an honest side by side.

What is the best browser-based Pepakura alternative?

3D to Flat unfolds 3D models into printable, true-to-scale paper templates with editable seams, glue tabs and numbered joins, entirely in a browser tab.

Pepakura Designer is the long-standing desktop standard and still the only option if you want to open existing .pdo files. Everything else, including unfolding your own model, tidying the seams, printing the model's own color onto the sheets and exporting buildable pages, happens in a browser with nothing to install.

When should you still use Pepakura?

If you want to open and edit the large library of existing .pdo files, Pepakura remains the right tool.

When is 3D to Flat the better fit?

When you are on a Mac or Chromebook, when you want to start without installing anything, when you want full-color sheets printed straight from the model, or when you need SVG and DXF output for a cutting machine or CAD workflow.

It also prints a plain-language build guide with pictures of each step, numbered joins and a ruler on every sheet, which makes handing a template to someone else much easier.
